If you discover an incorrect item or listing on your credit report it is your responsibility to contact the reporting credit bureau and notify them of the mistake. When you have done this the credit bureau is then required by law to investigate your claim.

Which Of The Three Major Credit History Bureaus Should I Contact?

In general, there are three major credit bureaus – Experian, Transunion and Equifax – that have information on your credit history. Anyone who has ever applied for a loan or credit of any kind has a file at one of the three major credit bureaus. Most creditors or merchants usually report to only one of these three major credit bureaus.
